I’ve been in wine for over a decade and it still boggles my mind how a White Burgundy like this could be made from the same grape as Cupcake Chardonnay. The answer is obviously terroir - but also the fact that these grapes were probably tiny little fighters, zero body fat and soaking up all the limestone in that Maconnais soil that they could reach, and then getting aged on stainless steel and neutral oak instead of in a buttery fresh French oak barrel. A great dance between classic Chardonnay body and a lean mineral finish that should make it dynamite with baked fish dishes or sushi.
