The name Champigny derives from the Latin Campus Ignis (fields of fire), a reference to the relative heat of the microclimate, the warmest in Saumur. Elegant, supple and fruity with notes of red and black fruit and occasionally flowers (iris and violet). Light and well-structured with fine, velvety tannins and a fresh, balanced finish.
