Created by pioneering winemaker Ntsiki Biyela, one of the first and only female winemakers of color in South Africa, the Aslina line pays homage to Ms. Biyela's grandmother. This WIETA certified, sustainable and vegan Chardonnay is complex, creamy , round and soft yet architectural and clean. Partial wooding gives this wine the edge and to show the beautiful tropical fruit and citrus character. A slight butteriness on the palate makes this an idel accompaniment to vegetarian fare, cheese and pickle plates or poultry and seafood (especially scallops and shrimp). Good acidity balances the fruit and wood for an ultimately harmonious and classic wine from an up and coming winemaker. Only 500 cases made.
